COURSE AIM / OBJECTIVE:
  • The purpose of this training program is to assist the Coordination of Academic Courses and Training and the personnel forming part of it in organizing and conducting the topics to be taught, as well as updating and supporting the content where quality and effectiveness of the training program can be improved. That is why the course structure has been developed, so the participant is competent and has the proper aptitude to develop the skills and abilities and perform within their tasks on board.
 
COVERAGE / PROGRAM FOCUS:
  • The High Voltage Installations Course (Operational Level) includes the necessary training for those who are described in the corresponding specialty in the STCW'78 Convention, as amended.
  • Competencies:
 
  • Operate electrical, electronic and control systems.
At the end of the course, the participant will be able to know the minimum standards of competence in this specialty and will be able to apply all their knowledge at the appropriate time to the given situation.
 
TEACHING METHOD:
  • For the selection of the methodological strategies that will be used in the development of this course, we have taken as a reference, the fact that the appropriate choice of the teaching- learning processes will make the seafarers the instrument to make knowledge possible in an effective way, so that we pretend to be facilitators for the participants in the reconstruction of knowledge, so they learn by doing and apply what they have learned to concrete cases in real life.

  • The equipment, facilities and simulators that are necessary for the proper use of the course, depending on the number of participants.
  • 1.            Facilities:
  • There must be a place to effectively transmit the information in the teaching-learning process and also a place where the knowledge acquired during the training can be put into practice as well as demonstrate competence as established in Table III/2 of the STCW´78 and its STCW Code, as amended.
  • 2.            Simulators:
  • The MMA must complete the following information for each simulator used for the training process:

  • Certificate of Proficiency is issued by the Department of Shipping, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
