Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A VI/1 2.1.2) is a part of the mandatory Basic Safety Training and STCW Refresher course. It is also the first step towards Advanced Fire Fighting training. The course covers the basics of fire causes on vessels, the use of extinguishers, firefighting techniques etc.

TEACHING METHOD:
  • Instructions will be undertaken through a series of lectures, tutorials and practical session. Practical sessions will be carried out physically at the live station.
 
ENTRY REQUIREMENT / TARGET GROUP: COURSE CERTIFICATE:
  • The course is mandatory for all to join ship.
 
TARGET GROUP: COURSE CERTIFICATE:
  • A certificate of course completion shall be issued to those who shall satisfactorily fulfill the course requirements.
  • Certificate of Proficiency is issued by the Department of Shipping, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
